The Partnership
The Ethiopian Seed Partnership (ESP) builds on the Ethiopia-Netherlands Seed Partnership and achievements of ISSD Ethiopia, recommendations of stakeholders, and ambitions of the governments of Ethiopia and the Netherlands. The partnership’s mission, objectives, and outcomes are aligned with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) of Ethiopia, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN), the EU delegation to Ethiopia and SeedNL.
Mission
The partnership’s mission is to enable the private sector to deliver farming men and women high quality seed of improved varieties needed for food security, nutrition, and climate resilience.
Objectives of the partnership:
Improve 1 million small-scale food producers’ access to quality seed and decrease the yield gaps of 500,000 of them
Expand the area under sustainable agricultural practices by 12,500 ha
The impact will be enhanced and sustained by effective layering upon gender, nutrition, and climate interventions
